Worship God, Not Man

In today's society, idol worship seems to be of common place. As millions of people fall all over themselves over the "hottest" celebrity of the moment; trembling at their every move, wanting to know everything about them, from what they eat in the morning to what toothpaste they use to brush their teeth before they go to bed at night. Millions flock to fill concert halls and arenas, all to throw their hands up in excited anticipation of what is going to come out of this person's mouth, and in today's world it's usually some nonsense. How quickly we forget that these people have red blood flowing through their veins just like everybody else and there is no real difference, especially God's eyes; the only difference amongst man is those that are saved and those that are lost.We need to realize who it is that should be worshiped, and that is God Almighty, not man.

What would happen if a generation woke up and realized that those who they look to are human just like they. In a world that wants to view those who have reached a certain level of affluence as "gods" or super human, we who are of the faith must take a step back, use our spiritual eyes and focus in, now more than ever, on He who was and is and is to come; and that is Jesus Christ!

We need to be less concerned about what man is doing in this temporal world, and more concerned about what God is doing and the advancement of His Kingdom. Focusing less on the movement of man, and more focused on the movement of God, fleeing into the arms of Jesus, running and filling the house of God, to hear what the man of God has to say. What would happen if people really began to give God Almighty the true worship that is due His holy and mighty name? One can only imagine.

Take a look at man. We're evil, deceitful, back stabbing, with filthy and perverted minds, perverted and slanderous tongues, full of hatred, weak and wicked, can't get it right even on our best day, and this is who some run after. Who on earth, in their right mind, would want to worship man, I don't know about you, but i'll pass. As for me and my house we will serve the Lord

It's okay to have a role model, it's okay to like someone's music, but when one begins to focus in on a mere human's every move and action, falling all over themselves over this person, idolizing this person, trembling in awe in the presence of this person, who is man, just like the rest of us, that's a problem. God, and God alone is the one who is to be worshiped not man.

Acts 10:25-26 "As Peter entered the house, Cornelius met him and fell at his feet in reverence. But Peter made Him get up. "Stand up," he said. "I am only a man myself."
