Short Thought #34: One on One with God

We are to have a one on one relationship with God. We are to yield to Him, in order to come to know Him as Abba, Father. God is not just sitting up there in Heaven on His Throne waiting for you to make a mistake so He can condemn you, absolutely not! God is on His Throne, desiring for His creation, His children, to come to Him and love Him as He loves us. He doesn’t want you on earth feeling all alone. He wants to walk with you, He wants to lead you and guide you. You don’t have to do anything but yield to Him, in order to be brought into this beautiful relationship with God. It’s worth it! It’s more than worth it! The life that God has in store for you is beyond your wildest dreams. So what are you waiting for? Enter in to God’s goodness, let Him reveal Himself to you! You’ll be so glad you did!

Short Thought #33: You Can't Save Yourself

You cannot by any means save yourself. If that was the case then Jesus would have never had to go to the cross. Stop trying to save yourself! It is an impossible undertaking. Instead go to Jesus! The sinful nature of man can only be cleansed by the life giving, redemptive blood of Jesus Christ! Then and only then will you be made whole and Holy in the eyes of God the Father. It is not by works, your righteousness is of filthy rags. You can never do enough for God to say, “Okay, they don’t need the blood of Jesus. They've done enough good.” It does not work like that, it is by faith and faith alone in Jesus Christ for your eternal salvation. God does not have a balance on which He weighs your sins and your righteous acts of goodness on. If you think it’s that way, you are wrong and are in dire need of revelation from God. Only by the sanctifying blood of Jesus Christ can you be saved and set free. So if you want freedom, go ahead and yield! Your Savior is waiting for you. God Bless!

Short Thought #32: Watch Your Mouth

We all really need to think before we speak. God said that we hold the power of life and death in our tongues (Proverbs 18:21). It greatly baffles me when I see people in deep wonderment as to why their lives are in constant turmoil. Well quite naturally, it is that way because that’s how you say it is. When you speak negativity your reap negativity. Watch your mouth! If you constantly say, “The bad things always happen to me! I can’t get ahead! I don’t have any money! I don’t have any friends! I can’t do this! I can’t do that! Woe is me!” Then yeah! Duh! Your life is going to remain that way and be a constant reflection of the very words you speak. You can’t speak cursed words and expect to have a blessed life. It doesn’t work that way. Instead get your words in line with God’s words, in order that His glory be manifested in your life. You have the ability to see your situation turn around; all you have to do is change your vocabulary and your outlook! Decree victory! Not destruction. God Bless!

Short Thought #31: Your Harvest

Just because you have not received a harvest from your seed just yet, does not mean that it’s not on it’s way. Remember your seed is in the ground for the times when you need it most. God doesn't give it to you all at once because you don’t need it all at once. There is great power in your seed. Just think about it. What if God gave it to you all at once? And then when hard times come, where you just barely have anything to sow, what will you do? Where will you go from there? I believe that a lot of people fail to realize that their seed is a weapon. If they truly knew the power that is in a seed, giving would for sure increase. So go ahead and sow your seed, but in good soil, and see what God desires to bring forth in your life. God Bless!

Short Thought #30: Why are we Losing

God called us to be strong warriors in the Body of Christ. Tearing down the Kingdom of darkness with every breathe and step we take. Taking up the dominion that God has given us in the earth. Breaking down the demonic strongholds that try to take root in our lives. So why are we losing? Because we aren’t united. Think about it? What army has ever won the battle when they were in separated from each other? None! They won the battle because they were all together as one; with the same strategic plan and the same desires. We are God’s remnant army in the Body of Christ. The reason we aren't winning is because we aren't united. We are separated in our pursuits, our plans and our longings. We have some in Christ just looking for a blessing. There are some still living some of the most sinful lives you can imagine. There are some wolves in sheep's clothing. There are some who really have no clue about God. There are hypocrites and liars among us. There are those who are afraid to take any kind of stand and at the slightest hint of a battle they tuck tail, runaway and hide. There are those who are selfish instead of selfless. There are those who point out others problems, like they achieved righteousness all on there own. And the list can go on and on. This is truly a crying shame! And we all sit back and wonder why the world points their fingers and laughs at Christians. If I didn't have the good sense God gave me then I would be laughing to. The majority of us in the Body of Christ make a mockery of our Father’s name. It’s time for us to grow up and shape up! You want to win the battle? Then lets shake off the chains and unite as one. Only then will we see what God has truly called the Body of Christ to be in the earth.

Earnestly Pray

"So Peter was kept in prsion, but the Church was earnestly praying to God for Him."
Acts 12:5

All too often things fall out of order beacause we fail to pray. Our prayer in the Body of Christ, is a means of communication with God, but is also a very powerful weapon (James 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.").

Often times people fail to pray because they forget, let the things of the day get in their way, don't know how or they just simply don't and feel as though praying is void, something of old. One should never let anything get in their way of having a relationship with God. Our Spirit needs that one on one time with God. When it's no one but you and Him alone; in a place where you feel His magnificent and tangible presence. Always seek Him! Constantly!

And praying isn't anything hard to do. All you have to do is get down on your knees and call upon the name of Jesus; with faith believing that everything you say, God hears every word and has the answer and you can bet your last dollar that He does. God will never let those who believe upon His name be put to shame.

Allow me to share with you a tidbit of my experience of praying to God.

I didn't always pray earnestly and constantly. Even when I first got redeemed, I was so immature in Christ that I thought praying was just saying the Lord's prayer and calling it a day but the Holy Spirit taught me in such a beautiful day that it is so much more than that. It began this way; my Pastor began to preach on the power of prayer and began to teach us what prayer was. Of course I was so intrigued by his teachings and I asked God to teach me how to put to use, what He was saying through my Pastor. It was then when I began to just feel this sort of tug on my spirit, a yearning just to get alone and talk with God; and not at just set points of the day but randomly throughout the day. So I would get in a special, quiet place, designated just for prayer and began to just talk to God and by the time I got finished, 2 or 3 hours had passed. It's the most beautiful experience and it does my soul and my spirit much good.

Now i'm not sharing with you my experience to just be like, "Hey! Look at me! I pray a lot!" Absolutely not! All boasting I do shall always be in the Lord. But I'm telling you this because I want those who read this to test the waters themselves, because it's weighing heavily on my spirit to tell my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray. I truly believe in my heart and with every fiber of my being that God is so yearning and desiring for His children to return to Him through prayer; to be strenghtened in His presence and to be refined like gold. God wants to talk to you! Believe it! He does!

And not only does He want to speak and spend time with you but He also wants you to use your prayers as a weapon; a weapon against sin and a weapon against the enemey. The devil can't stay around when the name of Jesus is spoken or even cryed out, as we do at times. So pray! Believe that God hears everything you say! He does!

We need to be like the Church in Acts 12, because of that prayer, Peter was supernaturally freed from prison. Can you imagine what might have taken place if they hadn't prayed? Miraculous miracles were not just supposed to end when the last pages of the Bible was written, no way. It should still be happening today, but we the Church, the Body of Christ, have lost one of our main defenses in the Body of Christ, praying!

You want to hear the voice of God? Pray! You want to see miracles, signs and wonders? Pray! You want to see the heavens open on your behalf? Pray! You want God to move in your situation? Pray! You need healing? Pray! You need deliverance? Pray! You need a breakthrough? Pray! You want to feel God's tangible presence? Pray!

I know we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day but no matter what you're doing, even if it's just once a day for 10 minutes, get into the presence of God. Jesus is waiting just for you.

God Bless!

Short Thought #29: Never Hold God as Common

The moment you begin to hold God as common, is the moment that He will leave you. God is not common. He is supernatural, magnificent and extraordinary! Powerful beyond your wildest dreams. Your walk with God should be something new every day because there are just that many facets of God. He is so deep, He is eternal. The life you lead with God should be something indescribable. If it’s not, then something is wrong on your end, not His. Never hold the things of God as common. Everyone doesn't get to experience the things that we in the Body of Christ get to experience. Be thankful and be grateful. We aren't worthy to see the glory of God but He has chosen us anyway. He seen something different in you and you should see the same in Him as He is the omnipotent one. The wonderful manifestations that the Holy Spirit reveals to us and allows us to see, we should never hold as common place or shrug it off, we should treat it with the highest regard. God Bless!

Short Thoughts #28: Power in Your Seed

If people really understood the power that is in their seed and how God moves and works, then they would give much more often. You want signs, miracles and wonders in your life? Then you must give. In God’s Kingdom, you give in order to receive. God didn’t tell you to give tithes and offerings because He needs the money, no! He told you to give because He knew what would be released in your life when you did. God even tells you to test Him and see what He will do when you give ( Malachi 3:10-11). So why haven’t you done it? You’ve got nothing to lose! God Bless!

Short Thought #27: Accountability

People always want to point the finger at the preacher but what people often fail to realize is that we all in the Body of Christ are to be held accountable for our actions too, not just the person who holds one of the higher offices, so to speak. God has called each and every one of us to the heavenly, as we have yielded our lives to Him. This means that you now have a divine mandate over your life. When the head hurts, the foot hurts, and vice versa, so on and so forth. We are all to be held accountable for our actions; so be sure when you point the finger that you are doing what God assigned for you to do in the Body of Christ.

Short Thought #26: Heaven and Hell

Don’t be deceived. There is a Heaven and there is a Hell. No matter how much you try and push it to the back or completely out of your mind, you can’t escape it, it is reality. There has been a serious decline in preaching on Heaven and Hell, which baffles me beyond belief. If you say you believe in God, then you must also believe that there is a devil. No matter how much society may scream you only live once, there is the reality of eternal life. You will live forever, but the question is where? The good news is that you have a choice in the matter. God sets before you, life and death, blessing and cursing, and He goes even further to tell you to choose life. The choice is yours. Heaven or Hell? Life or death? Eternal life or eternal damnation? Heaven where you will be happily rejoicing in the presence of God? Or Hell, where you will be under the unrestrained wrath of God, not for a day, a month or a year but for all eternity? There is nothing on this Earth worth not having eternal life. Let nothing and no one come in between you and God Almighty. The choice is yours. I urge you to choose life! You’ll be glad you did! You have nothing to lose and all to gain! God Bless!

Short Thought #25: Defeating the Enemy

You can thwart the attacks of the enemy with the Word of God. But if you don’t know the word of God, you will lose every time. For example, in Luke 4, where Jesus was tempted by the devil; He didn’t use head knowledge to try and defeat the devil, He used the word of God. You can’t outwit the devil on your own, you’ll fail every time. If Jesus, the Son of God, defeated the devil with the Word of God then you should do the same. By saying, “it is written…” and then proclaiming the word of the Lord, the devil has no choice but to depart from you. There is great power in the Word of God, it is a weapon and God gave it to you for a reason. Learn it! Use it! God Bless.

Short Thought #24: Thank God

Too many times we often forget to thank God for what He has done. It doesn’t take much for you to take some time out of your day, get alone in the presence of God Almighty and just thank Him for all He has brought you to, through and what He’s going to do. And don’t just thank God for things, also just thank Him for who He is, most importantly. God is just wonderful (Understatement lol!)! Let’s just all thank Him for His over abundant goodness! It doesn’t matter if you’re at school, at work, the library, if you feel it in your spirit, start to thank God! Don’t worry about who’s watching. For He is worthy, more than worthy, of all the worship, praise and honor we can give Him!

Short Thought #23: Do You Remember

Do you remember your life without Christ? Do you remember being depressed, down in the dumps and sinking in sin? Do you remember that Jesus Christ came along and by the power of the Holy Spirit, He pulled your soul out of  the grasp of the claws of Satan, dusted you off, put you in a white robe and presented you to the Father, where the Holy Spirit un-calloused your heart so that you would be able to yield to Jesus and Him to receive eternal life? Do you remember? If you don’t, then you should. Don’t ever forget where God brought you from; because the moment you forget, you can end up right back where you were, hopeless and in despair. Be sure to always give God the glory for what He has done for you and realize that if it had not been for His redeeming and loving grace you would still be lost. Don’t walk around high and mighty and arrogant either. Like you achieved righteousness all on your own. You couldn’t do it yourself, that’s why Jesus Christ came on the scene. You were just the same as everyone else, so take your nose out the air, be humble and remember!

Short Thought #22: Your Seed

If you’re wondering why you haven’t received a harvest off of your seed yet it is probably because you haven’t planted it in the right place or watered it. Just like your seed needs to be planted in good soil, it needs to be watered as well, in order to grow. Think about it in the natural with a seed. When you plant the seed, you plant it in good soil; you make sure it gets the sunlight that it needs and you water it daily. Planting your seed in the spirit should be no different. When you give your tithe, be sure you’re giving it to the right ministry, every Church is not doing the work of God, don’t be fooled or deceived. It makes no sense to just go drop your tithe off at any ol’ place and think that God is going to bless you, it doesn’t work like that. God is the light, His divine favor will shine down upon your tithe when you give it and He will also rebuke the devourer (the devil) from it (Malachi 3:11); and you water your seed with your faith. Just like with a plant seed, if there is no water, it won’t grow. It’s the same with your tithe, if you have no faith, you won’t reap your harvest; you have to believe that you have received before what your believing for is in your hand. So make sure you are giving to the right ministry and also be sure when you give, that you give cheerfully with faith attached to it. God Bless!

Short Thought #21: Watch Your Ways

A lot of times people think when they are on top and everything is going good that, that’s where they will be forever, wrong! Just like being in the valley doesn’t last always, neither does being on top of the mountain. So when you get up there don’t get all high and mighty, remember where God brought you from and be humble. And don’t treat those around you who may not be in the greatest position with disdain. What goes around comes around. Realize that you may be on the mountain for only a short period of time. Be gracious and be kind. You never know; those same people who you treat poorly now may be the same people you need when you are back down in the valley.
