Earnestly Pray

"So Peter was kept in prsion, but the Church was earnestly praying to God for Him."
Acts 12:5

All too often things fall out of order beacause we fail to pray. Our prayer in the Body of Christ, is a means of communication with God, but is also a very powerful weapon (James 5:16 "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective.").

Often times people fail to pray because they forget, let the things of the day get in their way, don't know how or they just simply don't and feel as though praying is void, something of old. One should never let anything get in their way of having a relationship with God. Our Spirit needs that one on one time with God. When it's no one but you and Him alone; in a place where you feel His magnificent and tangible presence. Always seek Him! Constantly!

And praying isn't anything hard to do. All you have to do is get down on your knees and call upon the name of Jesus; with faith believing that everything you say, God hears every word and has the answer and you can bet your last dollar that He does. God will never let those who believe upon His name be put to shame.

Allow me to share with you a tidbit of my experience of praying to God.

I didn't always pray earnestly and constantly. Even when I first got redeemed, I was so immature in Christ that I thought praying was just saying the Lord's prayer and calling it a day but the Holy Spirit taught me in such a beautiful day that it is so much more than that. It began this way; my Pastor began to preach on the power of prayer and began to teach us what prayer was. Of course I was so intrigued by his teachings and I asked God to teach me how to put to use, what He was saying through my Pastor. It was then when I began to just feel this sort of tug on my spirit, a yearning just to get alone and talk with God; and not at just set points of the day but randomly throughout the day. So I would get in a special, quiet place, designated just for prayer and began to just talk to God and by the time I got finished, 2 or 3 hours had passed. It's the most beautiful experience and it does my soul and my spirit much good.

Now i'm not sharing with you my experience to just be like, "Hey! Look at me! I pray a lot!" Absolutely not! All boasting I do shall always be in the Lord. But I'm telling you this because I want those who read this to test the waters themselves, because it's weighing heavily on my spirit to tell my brothers and sisters in Christ to pray. I truly believe in my heart and with every fiber of my being that God is so yearning and desiring for His children to return to Him through prayer; to be strenghtened in His presence and to be refined like gold. God wants to talk to you! Believe it! He does!

And not only does He want to speak and spend time with you but He also wants you to use your prayers as a weapon; a weapon against sin and a weapon against the enemey. The devil can't stay around when the name of Jesus is spoken or even cryed out, as we do at times. So pray! Believe that God hears everything you say! He does!

We need to be like the Church in Acts 12, because of that prayer, Peter was supernaturally freed from prison. Can you imagine what might have taken place if they hadn't prayed? Miraculous miracles were not just supposed to end when the last pages of the Bible was written, no way. It should still be happening today, but we the Church, the Body of Christ, have lost one of our main defenses in the Body of Christ, praying!

You want to hear the voice of God? Pray! You want to see miracles, signs and wonders? Pray! You want to see the heavens open on your behalf? Pray! You want God to move in your situation? Pray! You need healing? Pray! You need deliverance? Pray! You need a breakthrough? Pray! You want to feel God's tangible presence? Pray!

I know we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the day but no matter what you're doing, even if it's just once a day for 10 minutes, get into the presence of God. Jesus is waiting just for you.

God Bless!
